Step by step for a successfull visit to
Heit Balestrand

Packing List
When visiting Heit Balestrand, please bring two bath towels (one to sit on), swimwear, and preferably a water bottle. Jewellery can become hot against the skin in the sauna, so we recommend leaving such items in the changing area. A bathrobe and slippers can also be nice to have.

During the season (April through September), bathrobes are available for rent at the hotel reception. Guests staying at Balestrand Hotel may borrow bathrobes free of charge.

Upon Arrival
Parking is available at the hotel. If it is full, you will find additional parking by the old municipal building, two minutes away.

If you arrive by express boat or bus, you will see the sauna from the fjord. It is only a five minute walk from the quay. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.

Food and Drinks
It is easy to feel a little hungry after a sauna session and a swim. We do not offer food service in the sauna, but snacks and drinks can be purchased at Balestrand Hotel before or after your visit.

If you would like a proper meal, we recommend combining your sauna experience with dinner at one of the village’s many cosy restaurants.

Drinks from the hotel bar may not be brought into the sauna, and for hygiene reasons food is not permitted inside. You may bring your own drinks, but please avoid strongly coloured beverages such as red wine.

For safety reasons, both in the sauna and when swimming, only a limited amount of alcohol is permitted during private sessions (maximum two units per person). Visibly intoxicated guests will be asked to leave.

Age Limit
We do not have an age limit, but children must be accompanied by an adult. All swimming and use of the sauna is at your own risk.

Facilities
Heit Balestrand has a changing area immediately inside the sauna entrance, where you can change into swimwear and leave your belongings. There are no toilet facilities at the sauna itself, but hotel toilets may be used if needed.

The Sauna
The sauna is located at the very end of the pier on our lawn, featuring a large window that frames the spectacular view across the fjord – a view we never grow tired of.

For the ultimate experience, we recommend combining the sauna with a refreshing fjord swim. The sauna accommodates up to nine people.

Booking and Cancellation
All sessions must be booked in advance via our website.
You may choose between a private sauna and a shared sauna. The shared sauna requires membership.

If you have any questions, please contact us by email or phone. Cancellations must be made no later than 24 hours before the scheduled time.

Enjoy Your Experience
Lean back and enjoy the moment. Take in the fjord and the mountains. This is your time.
